Todd
The name Todd means ‘fox’.
A fox is related to the dog and lives in the wild.
To be called a fox is usually referring one to being a crafty, sly,
or clever person. Todd, as seen through the eyes of God is of a different
breed. Todd’s nature is to
be crafty and sly but once it has been transfigured by the Blood of the
Lamb it becomes much more than that.
It becomes wise and discerning.
Wisdom is wholly different than craftiness. One who is crafty
practices underhandedness, deviousness, or deception and usually has no
remorse. Todd on the other hand does no such thing.
Studying the ways of the Lord Todd practices other ways of living.
He now has the ability to discern or judge what is true and right. He has
a lot of insight and uses common sense and good judgment.
This may make Todd sound like a stuffed shirt, someone who does not
know how to have any fun. This
is not so. Todd enjoys life as
much as the next guy. He is
not one to brood over things a lot nor is he necessarily sullen or gruff.
He does have his bad days like the rest of us. For the most part
Todd is a good guy that sees to the heart of a matter, He understands when
his brother or sister fails and knows how to give the right counsel to
help that person get back on the right track.
Romans 16:19 For
your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your
behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple
concerning evil.
