Theresa
The name Theresa means ‘a
worker’. A worker is one who gets things done so that there is order in
her world. Now, whether the work is done by herself or done by someone
else doesn’t matter, the work does get done. This is what God has called
Theresa to do in His Kingdom. But only until she totally gives herself
unto God and His service will she be filled with the Spirit of Wisdom that
enables her to do what He has called her to do and do them well.
Theresa has always had a
need to be doing something .As a child Theresa was almost certainly busy
either doing something she felt was important, or working at some project
and probably trying to get others involved in these same efforts. Her
world was always in need of some kind of improvement and she felt she was
the one who should be doing it. Things can always be better.
People tend to admire
Theresa’s ability and talents, wishing they could do the same. Theresa
tells them that they too can do these things for it is her desire to
uplift and encourage her brothers and sisters in the Lord in order that
they to will be busy working. She believes that if they only would apply
themselves they really could do the same exact same things that she does.
But truth be told other people really cannot do the same things as Theresa
unless they too have been called the same as she to do the same things
with the same calling as the Lord has placed on her life. This is not to
say that only Theresa or those with a name of a similar meaning are able
to do great works. Of course they can because God is not a respecter of
persons.
However, we each have our own calling, abilities and talents. And
we are all to work and live together as a family who love each other.
There are no better gifts or callings and no one is more specially gifted
than another. It may take Theresa a while to find that place in her family
where she thrives: maybe even later in her life rather than sooner. But
she will, that is, if she puts action to what she hears the Lord tell her.
Psa. 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His
commandments] His praise endureth forever.
