Powell

The name Powell means 'alert'. To be alert is another word for vigilance and being aware of what is around you. Powell is sensitive to people's needs, physically and spiritually. Once Powell has given him self to the Lord Jesus Christ all of his senses as well as his heart and spirit are fine tuned by the power of God's Holy Spirit.

Spiritually Powell is like a well trained security guard. He pays attention to those to whom he is talking while at the same time is completely aware of things that most don't even notice. These things that Powell notices that others don't are in the spiritual realm. While he is not super spiritual, he is 'on guard'. in a way. He seems to notice when something is wrong, just not quite right with a situation or even a person. He is prepared to defend or help those God has entrusted in his care.

Those around Powell may think he is not paying attention to what is being said or done around. And that may well be true. As long as he is paying attention to what the Lord is speaking to his heart Powell will do all right. It is God to Whom he must answer. Just the same, those in Powell's life, if they know him and the One he knows, will be able to safely trust in and depend upon him.
