Neva
The literal meaning of the name Neva is
"pure". While pure
surely means with out sin or fault it does have other meanings also: free
from corrupt desire and free from every admixture of what is false. Thus
Neva is sincere, genuine, and has a heart bent on serving God with all of
her life. This last part is what I feel exemplifies the true interpretation
of Neva's name.
Neva
is one who follows the dictates of her heart.
She does listen to others, even seriously considers what is said. But
Neva has to listen to her inner self. The
old saying, "To thine own self be true" is exemplified in her
life. This may make her seem to disregard what others tell her, but not so.
She is true to her heart, her convictions and the Word of God.
She
is moved by compassion, logic and public opinion. But in the end, she does
just exactly what she believes in her heart, for her, to be the right thing
to do, which is to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, her savior.
1 Peter 1:22 Seeing
ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, through the Spirit unto unfeigned
love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure
heart, fervently.
