Nettye

The name Nettye is a derivative of the name Natalie and means 'Christmas' which is the celebration of the birth of Christ. To celebrate means to make widely known; to perform a ceremony of respect, festivity and/or rejoicing. Therefore this name has to do with living a life that shows the wonder and joy of God's great salvation.

The name Nettye means 'Christmas'. Christmas for most people is a time of fun, festivities, giving and getting gifts and in general a wonderful time of the year. Nettye, when she gives her heart to Jesus Christ He in return gives His heart to her. One gift in return for another. After this wonderful exchange of gifts between her and her God, Nettye then begins a journey  on  which she discovers one wonderful gift from God after the other.

This may make it sound as if Nettye lives a fun filled live with no hardships or grief’s to bear.  But not so. She has her share of these times in her life. The gift of patience is not given but developed by enduring trials and hardships. Joy is usually developed after suffering loss of some kind. The gift of peace comes from learning to lean on and trust in God during the really hard times that do come. The gift of faith comes from knowing and trusting that no matter how long and hard her journey may be, the Lord is always by her side.

Nettye may be one who just quietly lives her life in such a way that if you know her at all, you understand the meaning of Christmas. Or she may be very open and joyful about it. Whichever way she may be, just by being around her after a while people tend to want whatever it is that she has that gives her such peace and joy.  This 'whatever' is the Gift of the Lord God Almighty that has made Himself known to Nettye.

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation
