Ned

The name Ned means 'Guardian' and that is one who not only guards, but also protects and maintains the safety of the people or possessions placed in his charge. Jesus is the Bishop of our souls, which is another word for guardian.  Ned, when he has given his life over to the guardianship of the Lord Jesus Christ, then learns how to be a guard over those the Lord places in his life.

Ned pays attention to the smallest of details, for everything is important to him.  He takes it upon himself to see to it that things are taken care of and he will do everything that needs to be done if no one else will. He even acts as a sort of shield, protecting them from harm if he can in any way possible.

            He is also like a watchdog, in a sense.  Ned is able to 'sniff out' trouble, find its source and put a stop to it before it becomes a real problem. He is a man that looks after and cares for those he loves.
