Michelle

     The name Michelle means 'who is like God'.  This is a description that would scarcely describe any one of us.  Who can claim to be like God?  In a sense we all can, for the Scriptures say that we were all made in the image and likeness of God. So, how is Michelle like God?  Is she good and perfect in all her ways?  Of course not.  But, like God, Michelle is one of a kind. There has never been one just like her nor will there ever be another quite like her.  She is unique. 

     In what ways is Michelle unique?  On the surface she seems to be as ordinary as the person next door, doing the same thing the same way every day of her life.  Going her way doing nothing spectacular in any way an any time.    Isn't that how most of us see God?  He causes the sun to rise day after day.  Our hearts to beat continuously hour after hour.  One day comes after the next, on and on for years.  And we all take this for granted, just as the air we breathe.   

     This is the way Michelle lives her life.  Usually doing nothing that seems to be extraordinary.  But who know what is going on in the inward heart when Michelle gets alone with God?  Mighty things can happen in the prayer closet.    Maybe Michelle doesn't look or seem like God to the naked eye, in the physical realm.  That's OK.  God doesn't either.
