Matthew

    The name Matthew means 'God's gracious gift'.  The word gift here has to do not just with the natural physical abilities this man has but with the spiritual gifts mentioned in the book of Galatians in the Bible as well.  After Matthew has given these endowments to be used by God for His greater purposes, he then is able to appreciate the Gift that God has given to him and all mankind in Jesus Christ.

    Matthew is a sort of 'jack of all trades' because he can do so many different things, and do them well. He is the man on whom you call when you need something done, done right, and right away. He is not a slacker.  He is a right hand man especially when a hand is needed.  When the tough time comes he is the guy that you would want to find.  When you do find him you won’t find him too busy to be of help

     In the spiritual and emotional realm Matthew is not a slacker either. His help may be in the form of a word of knowledge or prophecy, a special insight into the spirit of a problem, or a healing touch. God’s Word says that there is no greater friend than one who will lay his life down for his friend. Matthew is this kind of person. His help is a true gift from God on which Matthew’s friends can depend.

 Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
