Mary

The name Mary means 'bitter' and comes from the spice myrrh which when tasted is bitter.  However, when myrrh is burnt it releases a sweet smelling fragrance.  When Mary gives her all to the Lord Jesus Christ and allows Him to help her turn the bitter things that come into her life into a loving sacrifice unto Him, the bitter things then become sweet smelling fragrances unto Him.  This is what Mary's life is all about.

The sun shines on the just and unjust just as does the rain. Mary may not have any more problems in her life than the rest of us but the way she handles these problems is different.  It has been said that life's experiences either make one bitter or better. Mary chooses to let them make her better.  As she leans more and more upon the Lord, she makes this decision more and more often.     Mary is like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dreary world.  She can make hamburger seem like steak and turn the dullest of times into a time of introspection.  She can cause what may look  like a mountain to most of us seem like just a big hill.  It may take Mary more time and effort to accomplish what God has given her but by the face she presents to the world it is a secret between her and God. This the sweet smelling fragrance unto God.

Romans 12:1  I beseech you . . .present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God. . .
