Leona

The name Leona means 'a lion'.  A lioness is even fiercer than a male lion.  Why? It is the lionesses that do most of the hunting. They are ferocious, they have their young to feed, you know. How does this apply to Leona, in the sight of God? Once she has given her heart over to the Lord, she becomes one who protects and feeds the young in the Lord.

Her bark is pretty bad if you get her riled, but Katy bar the door if you harm a hair of someone she cares about. This sounds pretty fierce, and Leona is that, but for good reason.  She is not a fighter just for the sake of being a fighter. Leona is a protector. And while she is protecting, she makes sure the young in her care are well fed.

She may appear to be timid to some by the way she talks or by her manner.  But where it counts, in her heart and before her God, Leona is more than a conqueror.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy . . .
