Leola

The name Leola means 'a lioness'.  A lioness is even fiercer than a male lion.  Why? It is the lionesses that do most of the hunting. They are ferocious, they have their young to feed, you know. How does this apply to Leola in the sight of God? Whether Leola is hot tempered or mild mannered she still has the drive within herself to fight for what is hers and to take care of the ones she loves. Once she has given her heart over to the Lord, she becomes one who protects and feeds the young who the Lord has placed in her charge.

Leola may appear to be timid to some by the way she talks or by her mannerisms. Just as a guard dog barks when it thinks there is an intruder so does Leola ‘bark’ in her own way. Her bark is pretty bad if you get her riled especially if you try to harm a hair on the head of someone she cares about. She is not all bark however. Her bark turns into a bite pretty quickly if she deems it necessary. This sounds ferocious, and Leola is that, but for good reason.  When Leola cares about someone, child or adult, it is not a fleeting emotional thing nor is it something to be taken lightly. When she loves, she loves deeply and truly. Just as God numbers the hairs on our heads, so too Leola is concerned about the small things as well as the big ones things that matter to her loved ones.

She is not a fighter just for the sake of being a fighter. She is gentle to those who allow her to love them and show them her tenderness. Jesus is noted as being gentle too while he is also referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. A lion is seen as a symbol of bravery and strength and these are the attributes which the Lord has put in Leola’s spirit man. She has to be these things in order to be able to take care of and protect her loved ones. As all true lions of God are to be Leola is more than a conqueror through Him that loves her. Rom 8:38

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy . . .
