In ancient times laurel crowns were bestowed as a mark of honour, especially on civil officials and returning warriors. Therefore to be crowned with laurels would be a sign of honor and here, in the interpretation of this name, it would be honor that comes from the Lord. To be crowned with honor would be to be held in great esteem and have a lot of influence over others. Larry would be one who is able to reach the thrown room of heaven on the behalf of others. Not that these are not able to pray for their own selves, but Larry has a special place in God's heart. This is because God's heart is to see His children do well and prosper and Larry prays for and wants this for others also. Larry does have a special kind of influence with God because of the heart He has placed within him but he also has great influence with people too. He has a way of convincing others to see things from his point of view. Larry could use this influence to persuade people to do things that are not right if he hadn't given his heart and soul to the Lord for His use. His purpose for Larry is to for him to lead others to Him. In this He is glorified and in turn He will give honor to Larry. Isa 62:3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. © Helen Elliott 2001 No longer will there be a charge for the name interpretations.
