Krissinda

The name Krissinda means ‘golden flower’ which is a really old name for the flower chrysanthemum and its name has been shortened to ‘mum’ by most people. Whatever they are called their beauty is not diminished by their aroma, and as a plus their care is quick and easy. Chrysanthemums don’t bloom over a long season as some other annuals but they do stay colorful for perhaps six weeks in the fall. The rest of the growing season when their blooms have dropped and only their foliage is left they are considered to be “filler” plants that provide a backdrop for showier spring and summer annuals.

In the Bible Psa. 103:15: As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. In other words, our time here on Earth is short so bloom where you are planted while you can.  Krissinda has been put here to bloom in a matter of speaking, for a season.  As there is no telling how many seasons she may be required to bloom she has to be a 'bright spot' in an otherwise gloomy place. Some people seem to be more able to let their light shine when they are placed in unlovely or unpleasant surroundings. Maybe this is so with Krissinda. .

Mums have been known for their showiness for special occasions for years. Jesus was called the Lilly of the valleys and the Rose of Sharon because of His loveliness.  Not necessarily of His physical looks however, but of His love and His manner. While Krissinda may be lovely to look upon it is not her physical looks which she is required to show, but the loveliness in her heart and soul. This is what will attract others to her and eventually, hopefully, to the Lord.

Krissinda, once she has decided to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, will be lovely to look upon, a joy to be seen and a pleasure to be with.

John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
