Jehovah is of course, God, and salvation is, according to the dictionary, deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil. Joshua may or may not actually and physically be able to save people from their troubles. Most likely that is not the real purpose for which the Lord has placed him here on Earth. Joshua can be a mighty big help to people of all kinds in many and various ways once he has given his heart and soul to God. Under the leadership of the Almighty God Joshua can be a powerful tool. His wise advice comes in at a very advantageous time for some; his knowledge in some obscure field does the same for others and then his willingness to help anyone at anytime to do almost anything is surely a blessing for all. Joshua appears to be busy to the point of being restless. The Lord has placed so much on his list of things to do that it seems he will never get them all done. Is he so selfless to the point to that he thinks of everyone but himself? No, of course not. It is just that as he grows in the Lord, he grows more and more in his awareness of the Lords presence in his life and the call upon it. He is also becomes more and more aware of the needs of those God has placed in his life. Psa 89:19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
