James
The name James is a form of Jacob and means 'supplanter'.
Interpreted this means one who is untruthful and not to be trusted.
However, when looked upon through the blood of Jesus, as God sees
him, the name James means 'one who is true and trustworthy'. To tell the truth is a
good thing and being trustworthy is also.
But James does more than that.
James is a friend
of friends, loyal, steadfast and true. He is more than ones best friend; he
is the friend God sends when no one else will fit the bill.
He stays to the end; he doesn't quit or give up when he believes a
thing is right. Sometime, when issues get a little cloudy, James is the one
who will help you see what is right and the right way to go.
It is not enough
to tell the truth; James walks it. Some
may think he a stickler for his ideals.
The saying, "To thine own self be true . . . “ holds true for
James. Others may think he is all wet and hard nosed for what he believes is
right. God has put these values
within him. James can't help but walk the walk in which his God has led him.
Ephesians 4:24
. . . put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness
and true holiness.
