Hermon

     The name Hermon is a male form of the name Elizabeth and means 'God's oath'. An oath is a proof of the truth and/or security from violation or perversion of one's words. This is what Hermon is; proof that God’s Word is true and that Hermon will keep it safe from being defiled.

    Some people know God's Word by studying it. Others by hearing it preached.  Hermon does all these things too but he puts it in practice by living it.  He may not be one who quotes scripture at the drop of a hat but that does not mean that he does not know His Word. God's Word says that He writes His Word upon the tables of our hearts and Hermon's heart is no exception. He probable does not even know himself just how much he does know His Word. 

     Those who know him well see this by seeing him be the sort of person one is glad to know and to have as a friend.  Such a person was Jesus, the Living Word. Hermon can be and usually is whatever and whoever you need him to be.  He is there when you need him.  Your secrets are safe with Hermon as well as your most intimate confidences. He is a trusted and valued friend.
