In interpreting his name it is to be realized that it is the spiritual part of Hector’s name that is being studied. Jesus is the Bishop of our souls, which is another word for guardian He pays attention to the smallest of details, for everything is important to him. Others may see Hector as maybe being just a little bossy. It seems as though he must take it upon himself to see to it that things are taken care of and he will do it all if no one else will. He is a man that looks after and cares for those he loves, and anyone that the Lord places in his life. He even acts as a sort of shield, protecting them from harm if he can in any way possible. He is like a watchdog in a sense. Hector is able to 'sniff out' trouble, find its source and put a stop to it before it becomes a real problem. He may even appear to be stern and unmoving to some that do not know him very well. This is because Hector takes life so very seriously, and not from a lack of love.1Cor. 16:13 . . . stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
