Heather

     The name Heather is a plant name.  It has no particular meaning of its' own. The heather plant is a shrub that thrives on open, barren, usually acid and ill drained soil and bears pretty pink blossoms.  Therefore the expression, 'bloom where you are planted' could be life motto for Heather.  Where ever she lives or works or is 'planted' is where Heather 'blossoms'.  The heather shrub is an evergreen which means that even in the coldest winter or the hottest summer its leaves are always green.  So too, Heather grows and continues to thrive  no matter what the season of her life or what life hands out to her.

     Another expression comes to mind, 'When it gets too hot, get out of the kitchen'.  Some people avoid any confrontation at any cost.  Some enjoy them and use them as a chance to express themselves, usually in a negative way.  Heather, on the other hand, uses confrontations as a chance to bloom and spread the fragrance of a sweet disposition rather than wilt and have a sour attitude

     When placed in desperate and trying situations Heather is not one to complain and blame others. She has learned by trusting and leaning on the Lord Jesus Christ that is she just keeps hanging on and hanging in there she, she not only lives through it but comes out on the other sides victorious.  Where the hot winds of adversity destroy the best of intentions of others, those winds just cause Heather to grow deeper roots.  Because of this the blooms she grows will be bigger and better the next season.

Psa. 1:3 and he shall be like tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper
