Harold
The name Harold means 'world
ruler '. A ruler is one that
exercises authority within a limited sphere and/or is an acknowledged
leader. A ruler is also
one who is a protector or guardian, that gives aid to those who are in
need and is one who is known to be one of firm character.
In his world Harold is a man with whom it would be well advised to
give consideration, especially when he is giving advice.
Some may view him as being controlling or trying to direct other
people's lives. But in reality, if acting under the leadership of the Lord,
Harold tries to bring order in what is sometimes confusing situations. He
may seem to be controlling or bossy to those he cares for but this stems
from his great concern for their well being.
Harold has a wealth of wisdom, discernment and knowledge that is
garnered from above. His power
and influence is not of his own and he would be wise to remember that and so
too the people with which he comes into contact. Harold did not set himself
up as a ruler, the Lord did. But to be a good and wise ruler, Harold has to
exercise humility before God and man. In
this Harold becomes one who can be, and is, a great comfort and strength to
those who come to him in their time of need.
Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. . .
